International Congress on Ecology and Evolution
Published on 29/11/2022
The international congress of ecology and evolution of the three learned societies: SFE² (French Society of Ecology and Evolution), GfÖ
(Ecological Society of Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and EEF (European Federation of Ecology) was held from 21 to 25 November 2022 in Metz (https://sfe2gfomeeting.sciencesconf.org/).
It was organised by the LIEC (Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire des Ecosystèmes Continentaux, UL) as well as by several research laboratories of the Grand-Est region, notably the URAFPA (with the involvement of Claire Collas and Damien Banas). This congress on the theme of "Ecology and Evolution: New perspectives and societal challenges" also offered a range of activities on the theme of art and ecology, as well as a conference for the general public on the challenges of climate change (by Valérie
Masson-Delmotte). For URAFPA, it was also an opportunity to communicate on various projects. During the session on
restoration ecology and ecosystem dynamics, Stefan Jurjanz presented the results obtained by goat grazing to limit the development of Japanese knotweed and to control the overgrowth of natural sites (collaboration with the City of Nancy and the DEMNA in Belgium). In addition, two posters were presented by Stefan Jurjanz and Claire Collas during the session on ecotoxicology and environmental pollution; one on the environmental impregnation of different honeys according to an urbanisation gradient (collaboration with the City of Nancy and the CETA-GN); the other on the exposure of herbivores to soil arsenic with the case of horses grazing on a geochemical anomaly (collaboration with IFCE, E2Lim -University of Limoges and the Laboratoire des Courses Hippiques).
