CHLORDECONE IN THE CARIBBEAN: A One Health approach taking shape
Published on 25/06/2026
Guido RYCHEN, Agnès FOURNIER and Matthieu DELANNOY members of the L2A are co-authors of chapters 5, 9 and 13 of this multidisciplinary collective work, published by Quae this year, which provides an overview of the latest scientific findings on the case of chlordecone in the West Indies. This pesticide represents an unprecedented situation of widespread contamination of environmental compartments and the food chain, affecting a large area and having a lasting impact on the health of both human and non-human populations. Beyond simply presenting the facts, the book also offers a reflective analysis of the lessons learnt, the tools, methods and approaches that may prove useful in other contexts.
