The A2F scientific division is represented on the University of Lorraine’s Research Ethics Committee through the appointment of a member of L2A, Damien BANAS

Research ethics is now a key issue for higher education and research institutions. It underpins the design of scientific projects, provides a framework for practices, promotes transparency and helps to build trust between researchers, participants, institutional partners and civil society.

With this in mind, the University of Lorraine has established a Research Ethics Committee (CER), responsible for reviewing projects requiring ethical assessment prior to their implementation. This body is particularly involved in research falling outside the scope of research involving human subjects as defined by the Public Health Code, ensuring compliance with the principles of integrity, independence, confidentiality, impartiality, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice and equity.

By decision of the President of the University of Lorraine, Damien Banas, a member of the L2A, has been appointed as a member of the CER on behalf of the A2F scientific cluster.

This appointment illustrates the L2A’s involvement in university bodies and in the collective responsibilities that contribute to the running of the institution. It also demonstrates the laboratory’s commitment to cross-disciplinary discussions that accompany the evolution of research practices.

Through this representation, the L2A contributes to the interdisciplinary discussions taking place at the University of Lorraine on responsible research, with due regard for its ethical, professional and regulatory frameworks.
