Fish welfare at the heart of discussions in the platform of experimental aquaculture

National work group "Animal welfare structure" for fish gathered together on January 14th in Nancy with representatives of instittutions from INRAE, IFREMER, ONIRIS and Lorraine University. This meeting was the opportunity to discuss about welfare assessment of fish in breeding conditions or in experimental conditions and about tests of environment enrichment. User feedback on the welfare assessment matrix has also let to consider possible evolutions. For this reason, this matrix has been tested on three species currently housed in the PEA, with a feedback on the realized observations.
